FAQ
What are biomaterials?
Biomaterials are materials made from natural, biodegradable, or bio-based ingredients. Our materials are developed through hands-on experimentation with ingredients such as gelatin, agar, sodium alginate, natural pigments, plant-based materials, and other supporting ingredients.
Are your materials handmade?
Yes. Every piece is handmade through an experimental process, so slight variations in color, texture, thickness, and surface may occur. These differences are part of the material’s character and make every piece unique.
Are the materials biodegradable?
Our materials are developed using biodegradable and bio-based ingredients. However, the rate and conditions of biodegradation vary depending on the material and its composition.
Can the materials be folded?
Yes. Most of our sheets can be folded. However, some materials may behave differently depending on their composition and thickness. Please refer to the care information provided with each product.
Are the materials waterproof?
No. Our biomaterials are not designed to be submerged in water. Prolonged contact with water can cause some materials to soften or begin breaking down. For light cleaning, gently wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth.
How should I store my biomaterial?
Store it in a dry place at a moderate room temperature, away from prolonged moisture and extreme temperatures. When storing a folded piece for a long period, follow the specific care instructions for that material.
Will the color change over time?
Some materials may naturally change color over time, especially those made with natural pigments. These changes are a natural part of the material’s life and do not necessarily indicate damage.
Why does my piece look different from the photos?
Because each piece is handmade, natural variations in color, texture, thickness, and surface marks are expected. Lighting and photography can also slightly affect how colors appear on screen.
Are the materials suitable for everyday products?
This depends on the specific material. Each product page includes recommended applications and basic information about its weight, flexibility, durability, and characteristics.
Can I sew the biomaterials?
Some materials can be sewn, while others are better suited to applications that require little or no stitching. Please check the individual product description for recommended uses.
Can I request a custom material or color?
Absolutely! Custom materials, colors, and specifications are possible. Because each custom piece is developed specifically for your request, it may require additional time to prepare. A partial payment is required before we begin developing your custom material.
How will my order be packaged?
Each piece is carefully prepared for shipping according to its material characteristics. Foldable sheets are packaged with protective separating layers when needed to help prevent the material from adhering to itself during transit.
Can I return or exchange a biomaterial?
Because our materials are handmade and experimental, returns and exchanges may be subject to specific conditions. Please review our Return & Refund Policy before placing an order.
